Orbi RBK23 Mesh Wifi System vs Asus Lyra vs Plume Superpod
Orbi rbk23 is a new series of Orbi mesh wifi system delivering total bandwidth up to 2,200Mbps with dedicated backhaul. What this product does
Like the previous popular model, the first version of Orbiby Netgear (the Ultra performance system) which is designed with AC3000 threeband this product Orbi rbk23 is a three band mesh wifi system, it’s aperformance wifi model. The main difference is that the first release of Orbi isnot designed with dedicated backhaul but the new Orbi rbk23 is. This model ischeaper than the ultra performance model, it’s the same price as the Orbiwall-plug model.

Rbk23 is a three band model with speeds of up to 400Mbps @2.4Ghz plus 867Mbps @5Ghz and the backhaul link between router and satellite delivers speed up to 867Mbps @5Ghz band. Each unit mesh system is equipped with 4x high power amplifiers internal antennas with beamforming technology. With dedicated backhaul @5Ghz radio band, the other two bands @5Ghz band and 2.4Ghz band are dedicated for clients connections.
Technically this performance wifi system covers up to 6,000 sq ft for three packs.
The apparent difference with the first generation of Orbi that comes with four gigabit Ethernet ports, the Rbk23 comes with only two Gigabit ports each unit. The router unit has 1x Gigabit WAN port and 1x Gigabit LAN port while the other two satellite units each has two gigabit LAN ports.

Orbi vs Asus vs Plume Superpod
Orbi rbk23 performance system is the lower end model of the Orbi series in addition of Orbi wall-plug model. Now, take a look at Asus Lyra Trio as comparison and also c0mparison with new startup product Plume Superpod mesh wifi system.
Both Orbi and Plume are three band model. Orbi vs Plume Superpod see that the main difference is that network segment the product is applied is different. Orbi with AC2200 delivers total bandwidth up to 2,200Mbps while Plume Superpod delivers total bandwidth up to 3,000Mbps. both mesh products apply backhaul, however Orbi applies dedicated backhaul and Superpod applies dynamic backhaul.

All the three mesh wifi products offer the same number of two Gigabit Ethernet ports, the router unit consists of WAN and LAN ports while the satellite unit consist of two LAN ports.
Two gigabit LAN Ethernet ports each satellite unit is enough for wired connection of Ethernet-based devices including desktop, game console, internet TV and more.
Plume Superpod is tagged with higher price than the other two products, many people appreciate the high performance of Plume with excellent high customer rated in Amazon. But Plume is highly priced compared with other similar products.
