Open-Mesh A62 Universal Tri-Band
Open Mesh introduces couples of A series wireless ac access point – the A42 and A62 universal tri band wireless ac routers. They are business class wireless ac access point like its competing products Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO and TP-link eap330.
What this A62 does
Open-mesh A42 and A62 have similar features except that the two products are designed for different capacity. Open-mesh A42 delivers total band width of up to 1.2Gbps dual band while
Open-mesh A62 delivers total bandwidth of up to 2.0Gbps three band and both models are based on wave 2 technology with MU-MIMO. Today you can find few models of wireless ac access point products engineered using wave 2 technology such as TP-link eap225 v3 and EnGenius for indoor AP and outdoor model of TP-link eap225 outdoor wireless ac access point.
Wave 2 wireless technology is ready with MU-MIMO technology to allow the system delivers data throughput to multiple MU-MIMO based clients concurrently to reduce network latency and faster processing compared with traditional non MU-MIMO clients.
Open mesh A62 and A42 are ready with MU-MIMO for faster data throughput.
For small to medium businesses, you may choose A42 that can accommodate up to 50~100 users, while A62 can accommodate up to 75~150 users. You may compare later with Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO which technically is capable of hosting ~ 300 users.
Mostly the wireless ac access point products in the market are designed based on wireless dual band. Series of Open mesh A42 and A62 are designed based on new generations of wave 2 MU-MIMO with three band.
Traditionally multiple AP devices are controlled by a hardware wireless controller. Today many wireless AC access point products are controlled by management software including Ubiquiti or TP-link. With Open mesh A62 you have a free lifetime license for CloudTrax, an open mesh cloud-based network controller, you don’t need on-site server to host the software controller so can manage anywhere your network from over the world.
- Cloud managed wireless ac access point with lifetime license for CloudTrax

With three band wireless ac access point is ideal for small to medium businesses and even enterprise scale. It is based on wave 2 wifi technology, Open mesh A62 is one of best wireless AC AP in the market. You may consider other products from other vendor such as Ubiquiti and TP-link.
Open-mesh A62 vs Ubiquiti vs TP-link
How good is Open Mesh A62 compared with other competing products such as Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO and TP-link EAP-330?
Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO is one of the best seller wireless ac access point in the market and TP-link EAP-330 is the most powerful AP offered by TP-link so far. As reference the following two tables show you spec comparison table between the products.
Open mesh A62 is a three band wireless ac2200 access point, speeds up to 2x 867Mbps @5Ghz band plus 300Mbps @2.4Ghz. The other two competing TP-link and Ubiquiti are two band wireless AP.
A62 is based on wave 2 wireless technology, wifi speeds can pass to gigabit speed and is MU-MIMO is native feature. Ubiquiti and TP-link is not wave 2 but wave 1 wifi technology.
TP-link applies wave 2 technology to its new model of TP-link EAP225 v3 wireless ac1200 AP, affordable wireless ac AP product in the market. Ubiquiti offers wave 2 AP product to its Ubiquiti UAP-AC-HD wave2 AP.
Open Mesh A62 is technically designed to support up to 150 users density, Ubiquiti is technically up to 300 users density. TP-link is not specified how many users density can support.
