High performance dual core processor

The router is powered by dual core 1GHz processor for fast processing of the communication between devices on the network. Not much different with other competing routers such as Netgear R7000 or Asus RT-AC68U that also come with dual core processor. High Power Antennas

Three removable external Omni-directional  antennas are installed with high powered amplifiers for broadcasting signal in all direction and with Beamforming technology to assure wifi clients are bound wherever they move around the network boundary with focused signal, stronger and faster. Netgear R7000 also applies beamforming technology and Asus AiRadar is actually based on Beamforming technology too. This becomes a new standard for high performance wireless routers.

Most wireless AC1900 routers that have been around for a while also come with three external antennas, even though previous models were with internal antennas such as Netgear routers. New Linksys EA6900 also comes with three external antennas and are also with beamforming technology, and previous models were with internal antennas.

Apple products are still consistent with internal antennas. The latest model is Airport Extreme AC router which is designed with tower model, the internal antennas are installed on top of the tower.

Archer C9 comes with two USB interfaces including one USB 3.0 port (at the right side of the router) and one USB 2.0 port (at the rear panel) with media server and ftp server support. With these USB ports you can share storage and printer altogether. With the attached storage to the port, you can configure FTP server and allows you access it anywhere through FTP session.

Archer C9 by Tplink

Like Archer C9, other Wireless AC1900 routers including Asus AC68U; Netgear R7000 and Linksys EA6900, they come with the same USB interface ports. However each individual USB port may have different additional function such as Asus AC68U that allows you to share USB modems.

Regarding the Ethernet interface either for LAN and WAN, all the wireless AC1900 routers have the same number of Ethernet interfaces, the Gigabit Ethernet ports (4x LAN and 1x WAN).

Tether APP

Like Netgear with its Netgear Genie, With Archer C9 you can manage your router and network easily with your mobile devices. Download the TP-link Tether app from the Apps store or Google Play and start playing your fingertips to manage your network environment.

Unlike Netgear Genie and TP-link Tether, Asus comes with AsusWRT dashboard UI for all of your activities in monitoring, setting up, and controlling your network application from your computer’s monitor.

IP-based control

You can control how the bandwidth must be used in a controllable manner based on the IP address individually or in an IP address range. Or even you can control the bandwidth based on individual MAC IP address, based on hardware IP address. If you don’t need to control the bandwidth and let the system to perform in its best throughput you can enable NAT Boost which is actually enabled by default.

Netgear R7000 comes with Prioritized bandwidth for streaming videos or music feature. You cannot control the bandwidth based on individual nodes.

Cloud feature

TP-link Archer C9 doesn’t have a cloud feature, but you can access the attached storage to the USB port via FTP session from anywhere you can have internet access. Asus RT-AC68U comes with AiCloud mobile app to allow you access your data in a personalized URL  from your Android mobile devices and also from your iOS devices. You can setup from your mobile devices, download the AiCloud and enter your router information. Or you can easily setup your AiCloud from your PC.
