New Omada Eap265 HD AC1750 vs Unifi AC-Pro
TP-Link introduces new series of Omada Eap265 HD Wireless AC1750 access point for high density environment. How good is this product compared to Ubiquiti Unifi Uap-ac-pro?
Omada EAP265 HD
Omada eap265 is one of Omada series with wifi-5 (wireless ac) for high density (HD) environment with Omada SDN platform cloud solution for business networking. In addition of the wireless ac series eap265, TP-link has also released the wifi-6 series – the Omada eap660 ax3300 and Omada eap620 ax1800.
Omada Eap265 vs eap245
Previously, TP-link had released the Omada eap245 which also works on ac1750 network segment like this new model Omada eap265 HD. See also comparison between Unifi AC-Pro vs Omada eap245 v3.
What is the difference between the Omada eap245 and eap265 series?
HD with SDN platform
The main difference is that the Omada eap265 is used for large-scale network business solution with high density (HD) environments and cloud based solutions that supports SDN (software defined networking) platform.
With the SDN platform, all supporting devices in your business network including all AP devices, gateways, switches, can be integrated into one network management system which provides a high level of efficiency, higher security and more reliability in one central management.
The eap265 supports more clients up to 500+ connected devices, three times more connected devices compared to eap245 or other eap series that do not support HD and SDN platform.
All technical hardware specs between eap265 and eap245 are almost the same including 3x internal 4dBi antennas each band, two Gigabit Ethernet ports (one port for POE and the other one is for bridge), housing model and designed for ceiling or wall mount.
The need for a business or enterprise wifi network that can require deployment of tens to hundreds of AP devices in one local site up to several remote sites is not an easy job, especially in managing the network into one IT department.
With the Omada app you can integrate all devices ranging from Gateways, switches, and APs in one network console, making it easier for you to manage your network, including network configuration and settings, monitoring network status and also managing all connected clients and devices, you can even do this via your mobile and tablet devices.
A single centralized network management for enterprise class business network is a must. Ubiquiti with its Unifi series come with similar product – the Unifi network controller software to allow you manage single location site up to multiple remote sites hosted in a local PC or cloud storage.
Low budget solution
Technically, the Omada eap265 as well as the eap660 series offer economical business and enterprise network solutions with easy deployment and easy network management for both local sites and multiple remote sites.
- Simultaneous dual band ac1750 MU-MIMO business class wireless ac access point with SDN (software defined networking) platform

If you compare with Unifi uap-ac-pro one of its competing product by Ubiquiti, you can find that not many spec differences as described in the following spec comparison table 1 below.
Omada Eap265 vs Unifi uap-ac-pro
One of popular product for wireless ac access point for businesses is offered by Ubiquiti is Unifi AC-PRO, one of Omada’s competing products.
Omada eap265 is designed with SDN (software defined networking) platform is targeted for high density (HD) environment up to 500+ connected devices including IoT devices, twice as more connected clients than Unifi AC-PRO.
In addition, with MU-MIMO supports Omada offers higher speed and lower latency when connecting to multiple MU-MIMO compliant devices.
With Omada you can configure multiple SSIDs up to 8 SSIDs each band, as opposed to only 4x SSIDs offered by Unifi. The large number of clients with various work divisions, multiple SSIDs support is an advantage to separate network names based on department or work divisions.
Other specs are almost the same as shown in the following spec comparison table.
