Netgear RAX80 Nighthawk vs Asus RT-AX88U Wifi6 Router
If you have not had the chance to feel the performance of the wireless ac router, you can also upgrade straight away your aging router with the latest wifi6 technology. Netgear introduces this latest wifi technology on its router products, the rax80, as well as Asus on the rt-ax88u product. Later we see how the spec comparison between rax80 vs rt-ax88u on a table.
Wi-Fi standard is evolving to getting faster and faster in line of increasing demanding data that is faster than legacy wifi standards. Wifi 6 is introduced into the market to answer the high speed data rate demand.
The rax80 is the first Netgear router product based on Wifi6, besides few other products based on the same technology with different and faster data rates such as wifi6 router with 12 data streams.
High speeds wifi
Netgear rax80 wifi6 router delivers ultra fast total wifi speeds up to 6Gbps speeds, up to 1.2Gbps based on 4×4 (Tx/Rx) 1024 QAM 40MHz @2.4Ghz band plus up to 4.8Gbps based on 4×4 (Tx/Rx) 1024 QAM 160MHz @5Ghz band. This high speed Netgear rax80 is ideal for connecting more than 20 high speed devices. At the same time Asus also releases Asus rt-ax88u router with nearly the same features as Netgear.
If you compared with previous wireless AD standard you can find that the wireless AD devices work @60Ghz band which both router and client devices must be in line of sight. Wireless ax works @5Ghz band like wireless ac standards. See also wireless AD-based device such as Netgear Nighthawk X10, the gaming router Netgear Nighthawk XR700 or TP-link AD7200 router.
Wifi6 routers will be more popular than wireless ad-based routers that work on 60GHz bands, while wifi6 still uses 5ghz bands that have many Android and iOS mobile devices equipped with 5ghz based wifi bands. The use of technology will be increasingly more popular if accompanied by devices that can be connected to it. 60ghz radio band is not popular compared with the emerging wifi devices that work @5ghz band
In addition of wifi speeds, Nighthawk AX8 is embedded with 6x Gigabit ports for high speed wired connection to allow you connect Gigabit Ethernet-based devices including Desktop, Game console and more. There are still many devices that are only equipped with Ethernet ports as connections to networks including TV, game consoles, desktops and computer servers. Of course the existence of more Ethernet ports is also beneficial.
When the requirement of high bandwidth wired connection you can aggregate two Gigabit ports for ultra high speed Gigabit link to allow you connect to high speed NAS or something.
