Netgear RAX120 Wifi6 AX6000 Router
Netgear introduces various models of wifi6 routers including Netgear RAX80 Nighthawk AX8, Netgear RAX200-100NAS AX11000 and this one we would like to discuss – the Nighthawk AX12 Wifi6 AX6000 router. We’ll compare it later with Asus AX6000 router.
What this RAX120 Does
Netgear RAX120 and RAX200 are designed with the same 12 data streams for faster and low latency data throughput. The main difference between the two models is the number of bands each of the product is designed. Netgear RAX120 is like Asus RT-AX88U which is a dual band wifi6 router while RAX200 is a three band wifi6 router.
Both wired and wifi deliver high gigabit speed technically, RAX120 delivers up to 4,800Mbps @5GHz + up to 1,200Mbps @2.4GHz band with dual band simultaneously, and the wires speed is also gigabit with the embedded 5x Gigabit Ethernet ports. Moreover, two Ethernet LAN ports can be aggregated to deliver higher wired gigabit speed.
Netgear AX120 wifi6 ax6000 is an awesome design product, with new easy to use Netgear GUI for setup and configuration, fast and rich feature GUI ideal for most people with lack of networking knowledge.
With heavy dense home environment, you may try this product and see that some experiences found that this router can stream up to 20 devices simultaneously, no buffering or stuttering and no wifi drops.
Like mesh wifi system, this router can deliver a single wifi name both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz band and roam seamlessly. All your client devices are assured to connect to the router including your Android / iOS mobile devices.

Netgear vs Asus wifi6
Netgear is not the only vendor that introduces wifi routers based on wifi6 technology – the 6th Generation of wifi technology. you can mention Asus with its Asus RT-AX88U wifi6 router, or you may consider TP-link with TP-link Archer AX6000 router etc.
Now, what is the significant difference between Netgear RAX120 and Asus RT-AX88U? take a look at the following spec comparison table:
Netgear RAX120 supports up to 12 data streams, faster speed when connect to more devices concurrently, compare with Asus and also Netgear RAX80 which deliver up to 8 data streams for less devices in home.
The other difference is the number of Gigabit Ethernet ports embedded on the board. Asus RT-AX88U offers twice as more number of Gigabit LAN ports than Netgear. For more wired devices at home Asus provides more wired connection such as Game console, desktop, laptop and Internet TV.
