Netgear Nighthawk MK62 Mesh Wifi 6 System
Netgear introduces new lines of mesh wifi 6 system – the Nighthawk MK62 wifi 6 whole home system. I’m still wondering why this line of mesh wifi system is not grouped into the Orbi series. Obviously this series of mesh wifi 6 system is the lower end model knowing the price tagged is much cheaper than the high end Orbi series. How good it is compared with TP-link Deco X60 mesh wifi 6 system.
Judging from the price tagged for the Nighthawk mk62 compared to the Orbi MX10 mesh wifi 6 system series, it looks very much difference. Mk62 is tagged at around $ 230 at the beginning of its appearance in the market, certainly can shift the market which has been dominated by mesh wifi system products that are sold at cheap prices such as Meshforce M3 or TP-link Deco M5.

MK62 vs Orbi MX10
What is the difference between Orbi MX10 and Nighthawk MK62 Mesh WiFi 6 whole home system? From the technology side applied to each model, of course they differ greatly, consider the spec comparison table between Nighthawk mk62 and Orbi mx10 series below.
From the wifi technology side you can see that the NightHawk MK62 is based on the dual band AX1800 while the Orbi MX10 is a tri-band mesh wifi 6 system model with the AX6000 network segment with each of band has different speeds.
See that @5GHz band the wifi speed for Orbi mx10 is twice as fast as mk62, so is the speed @2.4Ghz band is twice as fast as mk62. Moreover, Orbi mx10 uses its other 5GHz band as dedicated backhaul for link between Orbi router and satellite. Nighthawk mk62 doesn’t use dedicated backhaul link between router and satellite.
Both netgear mesh wifi 6 series are embedded with the same type of quad core processor but differ in clock speed and memory capacity, considering the Orbi MX10 must process tri-band wifi data and more streams and more complex tasks certainly require a processor with higher speed and higher RAM memory capacity.
Please refer to the following table below to see the clearer differences between the mesh wifi 6 series. Not all the details spec and features are listed in the table, you may click the product link later for more spec details including link to shop in Amazon.

Nighthawk mk62 vs Deco x60
TP-link also doesn’t want to be left behind to introduce the mesh wifi 6 system, although Netgear has released two series of wifi 6 mesh systems, but TP-link is late in releasing similar product to the market. The product to be released soon by TP-link is Deco x60 which will add to the mesh wifi series from the existing wifi ac mesh series including TP-link Deco M4, Deco M5 and still more.
Broadly speaking, what are the differences between the two products of Nighthawk mk62 and Deco x60 can be presented in the following spec comparison table.
Table 2 Nighthawk mk62 vs Deco x60
|Model||Nighthawk mk62||Deco x60|

Note that there the main differences between the product is lying in the network segments that is applied to each product. The Nighthawk is designed using the ax1800 network segment while the Deco x60 is based on the ax3000 network segment.
In addition of high speed ax6000 and ax11000, TP-link offers medium product based on ax3000 network segment – see also TP-link Archer AX50 AX3000 Wifi 6 Router.
