Netgear offers new wifi mesh extender – Nighthawk X4S wireless mesh extender, as known as Netgear EX7500 wireless AC2200 with single wifi name.
What this product does
When you don’t like to upgrade or replace your existing high speed wireless router with new wireless mesh wifi system such as Orbi pro mesh wifi system or Asus Lyra mesh wifi system due to cost consideration, today you can just add mesh wifi extender to allow you extend the network with the same one wifi name so you still keep your existing router SSID name and password. Netgear introduces Nighthawk x4s mesh wifi extender to extend the wifi coverage in a taste of mesh wifi system. You may connect to any third party wireless ac router, it’s like what Ubiquiti offers with Ubiquiti mesh point HD.
Fastlane3 technology
Netgear EX7500 as known as Nighthawk X4s mesh wifi extender is designed with Fastlane3 technology that creates dedicated 5Ghz wifi link to your wireless router separate to your extender wireless network to the clients. So you don’t sacrifice half of your wifi extender network to the clients. This technology is nearly the same as today’s mesh wifi system, except that you keep your home wireless router and add the mesh wifi extender.
Seamless roaming
Unlike traditional wireless range extenders in general such as previous model Netgear EX7300 extender the same wall plug model or TP-link RE650 AC2600 range extender, Nighthawk X4s wifi mesh extender works in a single wifi name (SSID name). With a single SSID name your mobile devices can roam seamlessly moving from room to the other sides of the home with the same network name. It supports 802.11k standard to allow your devices with 802.11k compatible to roam seamlessly.
Three band
Nighthawk X4s wifi mesh extender is a three band wireless mesh extender with one 5Ghz band is dedicated for connecting to the router, it delivers high speed of up to 2.2 Gbps total bandwidth, two 866Mbps @5Ghz band and up to 400Mbps @2.4Ghz band and is designed with wall-plug model like Ubiquiti Amplifi mesh point.

The Netgear EX7500 mesh wifi range extender can only work with wireless AC routers, or any wireless ac gateway such as Surfboard SBG6950ac2 wireless cable modem gateway. Any third party wireless router can connect seamlessly to this Nighthawk X4s mesh wifi extender.
