Meshforce M7 vs Orbi Rbk23 vs Velop AC6600
Following its success in the market with Meshforce m1 and m3 dual band mesh wifi products, Meshforce releases tri-band mesh wifi product, the Meshforce m7. How the prospect of this product will compete with Netgear Orbi and Linksys Velop products which have already dominated the market of three band mesh wifi?
Unlike the previous Meshforce m1 and Meshforce m3 series which were designed with a body like a truncated pyramid, this meshforce m7 is designed with round cylinder model with vent at the bottom side of the body, quite beautiful to place on a table or bookshelf in your home as part of the room decoration.
Lots of mesh wifi 6 models in the ax1500 or ax1800 network segment are mostly dual band models. So why Meshforce releases mehforce m7 three band mesh wifi series instead of releasing a dual band mesh wifi with latest wifi 6 technology? Indeed, in general not many home devices have switched to using wifi 6 technology, so it makes sense that Meshforce wants to add its line of mesh wifi products with three-band ac2100 wave 2 mesh wifi.
Meshforce m7 is tagged with more economical price than most available tri-band mesh wifi products in the market so far such as Netgear Orbi Rbk23 ac2200 tri-band and Linksys Velop ac2200 tri-band mesh wifi. The last two products are still above $300 (3-pack model); can meshforce m7 beat them with lower price approach?
Meshforce M7 vs Velop vs Orbi
Now we compare Meshforce 7 with two tri-band mesh wifi products from two major vendors that have dominated mesh wifi market to date, including wifi-6 router products such as Netgear rax70 and Netgear rax78.
Considering that Orbi and Velop have released products with the latest wifi6 technology such as the Orbi Rbk850 ax6000 and Velop MX10 ax5300, we take two of their products that are still based on wireless ac: Orbi Rbk23 ac2200 and Velop ac2200. Both are still comparable to the Meshforce m7 product.
Consider table 1 and table 2 below which presents comparison tables between the three products.
Wifi and Backhaul link
The three products technically use the same wifi5 technology, the tri-band ac2100 or ac2200 and the area that can be covered technically is also around 6000 sq ft for the three nodes. What distinguishes it is the backhaul link approach for communication between nodes.
Meshforce m7 and Orbi use a dedicated backhaul @ 5ghz band approach, while Velop uses shared bandwidth for backhaul with connected devices.
Actually there is something different with Orbi that distinguishes between Orbi mesh router and Orbi satellite; they are not interchangeable as in meshforce and velop.
All the three products do not come with USB port; while the Ethernet ports are all Gigabit speed and the Meshforce offer one more Ethernet ports.

Processor gear that is embedded in each of the router board is different. The processor spec for Velop and M7 is different, quad core vs dual core that indeed gives different processing performance. See that Velop with Quad core and large capacity of 4GB flash memory is like what is embedded in new model of eero 6 mesh wifi and eero 6 Pro mesh wifi.
M7 doesn’t come with particular network security threat protection like Orbi that comes with Netgear Armor and Linksys Velop with Linksys Shield. However, either Netgear Armor or Linksys Shield is paid subscription service.

For wifi-6 routers need, consider either Asus ax6000 or Netgear ax600 routers, two series of ax6000 wifi6 routers. To support your business offices or corporate wifi networks, consider new series of Ubiquiti Unifi 6 access point or Engenius 6 that come with centralized network controller software.
