Linksys EA7300 vs Netgear R6400 Vs Archer C9

At the end of 2016, Linksys offered couple of wireless routers with Multi User MIMO (MU-MIMO) technology, the Linksys WRT3200ACM and Linksys AC1750 EA7300 Max Stream MU-MIMO router.  Linksys WRT3200ACM is not like traditional three band routers but it is a dual band router with open source firmware. What about the EA7300?

What this product does

Linksys EA7300 is a new model released around sep 2016, and is based on wireless AC1750 technology network segment, delivering dual band wifi network with speeds of up to 1300Mbps @5Ghz band and up to 600Mbps @2.4Ghz band.


Multi User MIMO technology is a new generation of MIMO technology that allows the router delivers multiple data streams to multiple clients at the same time, simultaneously to eliminate network bottleneck when multiple clients demand high data rate throughput at the same bandwidth share. Traditional non MU-MIMO routers send data one by one to multiple clients that commonly contributes delay.

MU-MIMO technology is commonly applied to new generations of high end routers such as Linksys EA8500 AC2600 router, TP-link Archer C2600 and Netgear X4S AC2600 router. and even new generation of mesh home wifi routers apply MU-MIMO technology such as Linksys Velop 3 band mesh wifi system, Portal wave 2 wifi system, and Netgear Orby.

Technically you may compare this product with two other popular wireless routers that have been around in the market for some times, the Netgear AC1750 R6400 router and TP-link AC1900 Archer C9 router. MU-MIMO feature

The main difference is the inclusion of MU-MIMO technology applied to Linksys EA7300 while the other two competing products are not ready with this feature.
