Linksys ax3200 vs Asus vs Archer Which One is Better

Linksys ax3200 is one of linksys wifi 6 routers in middle range network segment. How these routers perform between linksys ax3200 vs asus vs tplink?

In this article:

So far the top notch product introduced by Linksys in wifi 6 router is Linksys Hydra Pro which is the latest wifi 6e router, the enhancement of wifi 6 technology with the addition 6GHz radio band. How do Linksys products in the mid-range ax3000 to ax4200 compete in the market with similar products offered by asus and tp-link  archer series?

Linksys e8450

Linksys e8450 is one of Linksys wifi 6 router products that work in the midrange network segment. This product is an addition of the first wifi 6 router introduced by Linksys, the Linksys mr9600 ax6000 wifi 6 router. Unlike its competitors including asus and tp-link which offer considerable product variants in the small and medium market segment, Linksys only offers few models. The Linksys e8450 is one of those that work in the middle class network segment. And the entry level model is Linksys e7350 ax1800 router.

Ax3200 vs Ax3000

Linksys e8450 comes designed to work at ax3200 network segment, and compete with middle class of wifi 6 routers available in the market so far. These include Asus ax3000 wifi-6 router which receives excellent customer rated so far in Amazon and other online retail shops. The other competitor is TP-Link Archer ax3000 ax50 wifi-6 router, and the newer model is TP-link Archer ax3200  and still more in this lower to upper middle segment, ranging from ax3000 to ax5400.

Technically all the above wifi-6 router models deliver the same speed @5GHz up to 2,400Mbps. The 2.4GHz band for ax3000 router delivers speed up to 600Mbps, while for ax3200 router up to 800Mbps.

You will be surprised that the top notch products will deliver double, triple or quadruple speed as fast as today’s ultimate products in the upcoming wifi 7 products. Wifi 7 technology is just around the corner; even tplink has showcased in its website few models of wifi 7 products such as deco be33000. Click here to see TP-Link deco be33000 in Amazon (#ads).

Archer Midrange models Comparison

TP-link on the other hand introduces four models of wifi 6 routers that work at midrange network segment including Archer ax50, archer ax55, archer ax3000, and the latest one is Archer ax3200.

Archer ax50 and ax3000 routers are the same product only with different labels for different retail shop needs such as Amazon and best Buy. While the two newer models Archer ax55 and Archer 3200 have few differences both physically and features.

You can refer to the following spec comparison table for TP-link archer ax55 vs archer ax3200 below. See that archer ax3200 shows few advantages including wider aggregated bandwidth with three radio bands as opposed to only two band ax3000.

The hardware interfaces both Ethernet and usb ports are different. Archer ax3200 with the addition of 2.5Gbps multi-gig port is interchangeable either for WAN or LAN port. Should you require high speed multi-gig internet plan you can enable this port as WAN port and connect to cable modem with 2.5Gbps port such as netgear cm2000 or Surfboard s33 or Motorola mb8611 docsis 3.1 cable modems. See that there are few spec differences between the two models; the later Archer ax3200 model provides many advantages over the previous model.

We will take the newer model Archer ax3200 and compare it to the Linksys ax3200 and also one product from asus, the asus ax3000 (aka asus rt-ax58u).

Linksys ax3200 vs Archer vs Asus

This time I compare three products offered by Linksys, asus and tp-link. To help you have a better insights of each of the products, as references I created two spec comparison tables below, table 2 shows you spec comparison between Linksys ax3200 vs archer ax3200 and table 2 for Linksys e8450 vs asus rt-ax58u.

Asus rt-ax58u ax3000 router
Asus rt-ax58u ax3000 router

These three products can be said to work in the medium network segment between ax3000 and ax3200, not much different except for the @2.4GHz radio band. Both Linksys and Asus models are dual band wifi 6 routers while Archer ax3200 is a three band wifi 6 router. Of course, with two @5GHz radio bands you can divide connected devices that work @ 5GHz band for different needs, for example for gaming @5GHz band-1 and for high speed streaming @5GHz band2 so that these two applications that consume large bandwidth are not combined in the same @5GHz radio bandwidth. Thereby reducing network latency @5ghz band.

Archer ax3200 is more profitable than the other two models from linksys and asus in terms of radio bands.

Network interfaces

Among these three models in terms of network port interfaces, the Archer ax3200 is the most advantageous considering that this router has one 2.5Gbps multi-gig port. This allows you use either to connect to high speed cable modem as a WAN port if you need a multi-gig internet plan. You should use docsis 3.1 cable modem that comes with 2.5Gbps port such as Surfboard s33, Netgear cm2000 or Motorola, unless you can use this multi-gig port as a high-speed LAN port for example for the need for a NAS connection with a multi-gig port.

All the three models are ready with WPA3 the latest security encryption, and still compatible with legacy WPA/WPA2 encryption.

What makes Asus rt-ax3000 / rt-ax58u different with the other two products is that Asus comes with free lifetime AiProtection network security protection powered by Trend Micro, yes free. You can compare with TP-link Archer ax3000 (Archer ax50) or Archer ax3200 that also come with TP-Link Home Care security services, however it is a paid service you need to subscribe annually.
