ASUS RT-AX88U Next-Gen WiFi 6 AX6000 Router
Asus introduces new wifi6 router – Asus RT-AX88U Wifi6 Ax6000 router. How good technically it is compared with TP-link Archer wifi6 ax6000 router?
Wifi6 technology – the 6th generation of wireless technology is promising to allow you to accommodate all the growing numbers of IoT (Internet of Things) devices in homes that demand wider bandwidth of internet network.
Netgear introduces Nighthawk Ax8 (RAX80) wifi6 ac6000 with 8 data streams and Nighthawk Ax12 (RAX120) with 12 data streams, TP-link introduces TP-link Archer AX6000 router and this one Asus comes with Asus RT-AX88U wifi6 router.
The model is designed like its previous AC dual band router – the Asus RT-AC88U dual band AC3100 router with four external antennas. And this product is equipped with four external antennas.
What this product does
With the emerging of new technologies adopted by new Smart phones, Laptops, Internet TV, game consoles which demand wider bandwidth for faster data throughput, when you have them in home then Asus RT-AX88U is your choice. We’ll compare this asus rt-ax88u with tp-link ax6000 router.
Why should you replace with the latest generation of WiFi6 technology, because any Wi-Fi devices at your home will be assured able to connect to the wifi6 router considering almost every latest generation of wifi technology is designed to be backward compatible with previous wifi technology. Wifi6 (802.11ax) can be backward compatible with 802.11ac or 802.11b / g / n. so there is no reason to worry that your device is not compatible with wifi6.
Asus RT-AX88U is lightning fast, all your wifi devices connect solidly and also moving between nodes seamlessly when you configure it as mesh whole home together with any other compatible Asus AiMesh routers.
It delivers wifi speeds of total up to 6,000Mbps with data rate:
802.11ac (5GHz) : up to 4333
Mbps with compatible wireless ac devices
802.11ax (2.4GHz) : up to 1148 Mbps
802.11ax (5GHz) : up to 4804 Mbps
So far, wifi6 speeds applied to other wifi6 routers including TP-link Archer Ax6000 and Nighthawk Ax8 are technically the same as of up to 6,000Mbps dual band.
Even though the number of Ethernet LAN ports either Asus and TP-link Archer is the same (8x Gigabit LAN ports), there is a slightly different with the WAN port. Asus offers standard Gigabit (1,000/100/10Mbps) WAN port for modem connection, on the other hand TP-link WAN port support high speed up to 2.5Gbps WAN port. Of course, if your internet plan service connection is still below 1Gbps, it has no effect, unless your modem and internet service is more than 1Gbps, your connection to the modem will not experience bottlenecks.
And one more thing, Asus supports two LAN ports aggregated faster two Gigs link, but Archer doesn’t.
Mesh wifi system
Unlike other wifi6 models including Netgear Rax80 or TP-link Archer Ax6000, Asus RT-AX88U can connect to other compatible Asus AiMesh routers to form a mesh wifi system to allow your devices to connect seamlessly from one node to the others with the same SSID name like normally mesh wifi system.
Today, Linksys also introduces new linksys mr8300 mesh wifi router that can act as the main router for all other linksys velop nodes to form as a mesh wifi system.
Asus RT-AX88U is protected by Asus AiProtection network security powered by Trend Micro, a free commercial-grade network protection. If you compared Asus vs TP-link Archer you can find that Archer wifi6 router also comes with TP-link Home-Care which is also powered by Trend Micro.
